Sajjad received his PhD in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of Prof. Krzysztof Matyjaszewski. His PhD research focused on studying external control in atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) to understand its mechanistic aspects and develop new catalytic systems to mediate the ATRP processes. Prior to his PhD, Sajjad obtained an MSc degree at Istanbul Technical University conducting research on photopolymerization systems under the supervision of Prof. Yusuf Yagci. In 2021, Sajjad joined the Stache Lab at Cornell University as a postdoctoral researcher. His research is focused on developing new chemistries in controlled polymerization systems as well as exploring depolymerization of polymeric materials.
